A new concert ceries: “TEN THUNDERS” initiated by Tasso Savvopoulos, guitarist and composer of the avant-garde Jazz trio IORI Trio and the Berlin Senate, starts at the ZigZag Jazz club in Berlin the Wednesday June 1st.  This concert series connects audiences with the arts by presenting renowned musicians who reflect strong artistic values in a way that creates vibrancy in the South West Berlin.

Among the invitees: John Schröder,  Wanja Slavin, Ludwig Hornung, Oliver Potratz, Oliver Steidl, Philipp Gropper, Daniel Böovarson, Christian Marien, Tasso Savvopoulos, Dimitris Christides, Peter Ehwald, Samuel Blaser, Marc Ducret, Olaf Rupp, Ulrike Brand, Antonis Anissegos, Achim Kaufmann, Elliot Sharp and Kalle Kallima.

The first concert scheduled Wednesday June 1st is a duo composed by Samuel Blaser from Switzerland and Marc Ducret from France.

Samuel Blaser is a trombonist shooting star.  A native of Switzerland who now commutes between New York and Berlin, Blaser is a musician who has internalized all that jazz history has produced and commands over a powerful musicality spanning classical intonation and improvisation. His smooth flowing lines sometimes contrast sharply with the guitarist’s harsher statements. Thus, his music appears in its versatility as a panopticon of current improvisation techniques, time and again building suspense with new musical facets.

The next event will occur July 7th with the performance of IORI Trio
